We have disagreed with Wisconsin State Journal publisher Jim Hopson on a host of issues, and we've said so over the years on these pages. Indeed, we have enjoyed the clash of ideas that Hopson encouraged when he aligned the State Journal with business interests in battles over the Madison minimum wage and other issues.
So it is with a measure of sadness that we note Hopson's decision to retire as publisher of the State Journal at the end of 2006.
