CENTRAL ARKANSAS IS engaged in a pivotal game with the sports tourism industry--and winning.
Forget about the record number of visitors the Clinton Presidential Library is seeing and the catalyst it has been on the area's convention business. Never mind the spruced-up River Market District and its accompanying trolley system.
The single biggest boon to central Arkansas' tourism industry these days is coming from the sports sector, which is estimated to account for nearly half of the visitors that come to the city bringing restaurant, shopping and hotel dollars with them.
