Mar. 22--Is there a difference between the official start of spring and the time when it is clear winter is over?
In Berks County, at least, mixed messages abound -- winter jackets donned by humans while daffodils bloom in garden beds.
But whatever are the signs of spring, it really doesn't matter.
It's spring when the sun says it is spring.
That day was Monday, the spring equinox. For the first time in six months, the lengths of the day and night were equal.
And Tuesday, the first full day of spring, that meant a celebration at Penn State Berks campus.
