The ballpark isn't just for baseball anymore.
That's the marketing cry from the Cleveland Indians' special events department, which is prodding the public to look at Jacobs Field as a place to host holiday parties, corporate outings and now weddings.
Kristan Dolan, coordinator of special events, is rolling out a series of all-inclusive wedding packages that "have all the bases covered'' to entice brides and grooms to hold everything from the rehearsal dinner to the reception at Jacobs Field. And now happy couples have the option of tying the knot at home plate - an area once considered sacred ground and off limits.
