Mar. 24--A Mercury News article on Tuesday about SunTrips customers' woes with the travel operator prompted a wave of e-mails and telephone calls. The San Jose tour operator that booked 160,000 vacationers last year recently canceled every trip scheduled to take place before April 5 in the wake of financial turmoil at the business. Earlier this month, Crystal Hospitality Holdings of New Jersey purchased the SunTrips brand name, its Web site and toll-free telephone number.
