E.B. "Bud" Robinson Jr. never met a mountain he didn't like to climb.
The latest mountain trek for the 51-year-old CEO and chairman of the board for Deposit Guaranty National Bank was in the Himalayas, where he finished an ultramarathon run at up to 12,000 feet above sea level, where the oxygen is thin.
Much of the path for the 100-mile journey took him on a dirt path built for jeeps in the 1950s alongside the majestic Mount Everest and other mountain peaks, Robinson said. "It was gorgeous."
Robinson's races to incredible altitudes parallel his rise to the heights of the banking business in Mississippi. In 1979, he became president of Deposit Guaranty. ...
