The Bolshoi Ballet is not performing at the Royal Opera House on its latest UK tour, which bypasses London altogether for dates in Birmingham, Salford, Nottingham and Southampton.
But recently leading ballerina Svetlana Lunkina spent a day there to give interviews ahead of the tour. Lunkina, born in Moscow in 1979, was once described by former Bolshoi director Alexei Fadeyechev as "the hope of the company". Now nine years into her career, she is a leading star in a resurgent Bolshoi.
