After years of targeting high-end chefs and consumers, the sustainable-seafood movement seems to have pit pay dirt with some very big fish. This February, some big-name retailers and one large foodservice distributor announced that they are jumping onto the sustainable-seafood bandwagon.
In Europe, where sustainable seafood has had traction for some time, the world's third-largest retailer, Metro Group of Germany, is the latest supermarket operator to announce a commitment to sourcing sustainable seafood.
