Abraham Rosenzweig passed away in Sarasota, Florida, on 9 October 2005, following a long illness. He was eighty-one. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, and seven grandchildren.
Abe's contributions to mineralogy and the collecting community far exceed what is written here. His was a life well lived.
His interest in natural sciences began when his family returned to Palestine from the United States in the 1930s. His specific interest in minerals was fostered by his high school chemistry and physics teacher. Later, as a youngman in Philadelphia, he had many of the country's most famous collectors as mentors, including Sam Gordon and Paul Seel, ...
