Newly-crowned president/CEO of Reed Business Information Tad Smith occupies one of the plum jobs in publishing. As with any new executive, however, a key measure of his success will be company growth. While RBI--the headline company in this installment of our Group Publishers review--has made great inroads with events and digital media, ad-page growth in magazines has languished for awhile. Our figures show essentially flat results both in our select group (+0.05%) and for RBI overall (-1.10%).
