There's a reason why stereotypes abound when it comes to a woman's hair color--the shade of your do does partially determine how you're perceived. "Since a lot of our self-image is based on the perceptions of other people--sad but true!--you partially view yourself through others" eyes and act accordingly," explains Judith Waters, PhD, a professor of psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey who's studied the psychology behind hair color.
