Mar. 28--Center City Philadelphia's residential real estate boom moved east of Broad Street last year, increasing the median home price in Chinatown and Washington Square West by about 40 percent, according to the Center City District.
Data collected by the Center City District showed that the median home-sale price in Chinatown and Washington Square -- Callowhill Street on the north to Pine Street and from Broad east to Eighth Street -- increased 39 percent to $704,859 from 2004 to 2005. The median sale price of condominium units increased 41 percent to $293,330.
