Whether for sound or performance, exhaust systems often are the first items a rider changes on a powersports vehicle. Just under 100 suppliers showcased exhaust components at the Dealer Expo.
A couple of the more popular applications in Indy appeared to be for the new Suzuki and Yamaha bikes outfitted with mid-ship "shorty" exhaust systems.
For instance, Yoshimura showed its new R-55 LCG (Low Center Gravity) exhaust, available in slip-on or full system, for Suzuki's 2006 GSX-R600 and 750, and Yamaha's 2006 R6. A new design, the system features rolled sleeves that offer a new canister shape, which is then attached to a cone-style titanium cap.
