Mar. 29--Some Reading High School students are unhappy that administrators are requiring them to complete extra work to graduate. Finishing the packets gives students who did not pass the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment or PSSA test a second chance to get a diploma.
Eighteen-year-old Candi M. Rea, who lives with her parents and 16-month-old son on Perry Street, said she doesn't think the packets are fair to some students. "It wouldn't have been so bad if they'd told us back in the beginning of the year," said Rea, who must complete the math packet to graduate.
