The concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) or corporate citizenship has achieved significant victories in the ongoing battle of ideas. The concept is now well established and, as such, requires closer examination. This leads us into a discussion on the regulatory mechanisms governing CSR actions. Our objective is to consider the oversight role increasingly exercised by one of the significant actors in Western democracies: the press.
