He joined the firm, then called Cauley Geller Bowman & Rudman, in 2002 in an attempt to diversify the firm's litigation base.

Not that Cauley Bowman needs to hedge its bets much. The New York Times recently ranked it in a tie for fourth place among law firms nationally for securities settlements in 2005.

Specifically, the Times said Cauley Bowman Carney & Williams was lead or co-lead counsel on 7 percent of all securities claims settled last year. It tied with Berger & Montague of Philadelphia.
