THE area around Tower Bridge on the south side of the river has become London's latest property hotspot. This once industrial wasteland of warehouses and derelict factories had its first revival 15 years ago when Sir Terence Conran cast his entrepreneurial spell over Shad Thames. But its second revival is spreading far beyond that.
In a recent survey of its 17 London branches, estate agents Hamptons found that its Tower Bridge branch had the highest ratio of new buyers to properties. According to Andrew Gillon, head of the Tower Bridge office, there is fierce competition for homes, with 70 per cent going under offer within the month. ...
