Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is "playing in the big leagues now," artistic director Michael Brindisi said on Tuesday.
The suburban playhouse has been chosen by the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization to develop the first-ever stage musical based on the classic 1948 movie "Easter Parade." Brindisi will direct "Irving Berlin's Easter Parade," slated for a world premiere here next February. If all goes well, R&H gets a new musical it can license across the country while Chanhassen gains national exposure.
