NORFOLK - The cash-strapped, oft-sued company that holds the contract for shuttle service at Norfolk International soon will exit the airport.

Lee Perry Rempas, owner of Airport Express, has agreed to depart with his company as soon as a replacement can be found, said Ken Scott, the airport's director. Rempas declined to comment but did confirm that he is leaving.

Since Airport Express landed the five-year contract in 2003, Rempas has been chronically behind in payments to the airport. The Virginian-Pilot wrote about the shuttle service March 5, ...
