ATLANTA - University of Texas basketball turned 100 this year, and the cover of the media guide marks the occasion with a montage of photos arranged around a burnt-orange logo that proclaims: "A century of excellence."
That's probably stretching things a bit. Since they first laced 'em up in 1905-06, the Longhorns have rarely been excellent, have occasionally been awful and have almost always played second fiddle to UT football.
