The Kresge Foundation awarded Wayne County Parks a $50,000 planning grant to design a "green'' gateway to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge in Trenton.
The grant will be combined with a $100,000 DTE Energy Foundation planning and engineering grant awarded last summer to Friends of Wayne County Parks to develop a visitor's center certified by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
