China's 2005 nonferrous metals production tops world for fourth year
Shanghai. March 30. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's ten types of nonferrous metals production totaled 16.32 mln tons in 2005, up 18.24% from 2004, topping the world for the fourth year in a row, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNMIA) announced Tuesday.
The nonferrous metals sector saw sales revenue rise to RMB 809 bln (USD 101.13 bln), up 37.09% from 2004. The sector's profits totaled RMB 54.4 bln (USD 6.8 bln), up 59.27% from the previous year.
