ALAN PARDEW fears Anton Ferdinand and his West Ham team-mates have missed the World Cup boat.
Pardew, whose team lost 1-0 at Manchester United last night, has championed the cause of Ferdinand, Paul Konchesky, Dean Ashton and Matthew Etherington but admitted England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson was unlikely to include any of them in his World Cup squad of 23.
He said: "Sven is giving out the signals that the squad is virtually settled in his mind and all our boys have probably missed the boat now, which is a shame.
"Maybe Paul and Matthew have a faint chance but for Anton, Nigel Reo-Coker and Dean Ashton, maybe next ...
