The ammonia that leaked from an ice storage plant in Navotas was not lethal and caused only irritation to the eyes and nose of those who inhaled the gas, Bobby del Rosario, manager of the Genesis ice plant where the leak occurred, said.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DoH) yesterday advised Navotas residents who were exposed to Wednesdayas ammonia gas leak to take immediate steps to eliminate the chemical from their body by washing themselves thoroughly using alkaline soap and to wash contaminated clothes separately from others.
