Mar. 31--NEW YORK - South Carolina, a team that is sleek and built for speed, ended Michigan's post-season run last night by shooting past the Wolverines 76-64 in the championship game of the National Invitation Tournament.
The Gamecocks travel light - five players getting almost all of the minutes, no pep band, just two cheerleaders, and a mascot that needed duct tape to keep its tail on.
Michigan was no match, stride-for-stride, with what South Carolina unleashed at Madison Square Garden, and found itself looking at large deficits most of the night.
