Sony Pictures Classics has sealed a multiterritory pact to pick up the rock docu "American Hardcore" in advance of the pic's screening at the South by Southwest Film Festival next week.

Inspired by Steven Blush's 2001 book "American Hardcore: A Tribal History," pic--which world preemed at Sundance, and was--follows the 1980s hardcore punk scene and its influence on contempo rock.
