Mar. 31--Erie's biggest birthday candle hasn't dimmed in a decade.
The Bicentennial Tower will celebrate its 10th anniversary this season, which begins Saturday when the tower's observation deck reopens for the season.
Standing there, at the top of the tower, you'll see an elevated view of the bay and downtown Erie.
But the tower has become much more than a viewing platform.
It's a modern-day lighthouse for drivers, who can glimpse it from as far as 38th and State streets.
Boaters can see its top from the lake, a navigational tool that lets them know exactly where they are.
