Although virtually unknown four years ago, the automotive cabin air filter has been well accepted throughout Europe and is beginning to become an original equipment part in Japan. The only country in which new cars are not yet furnished with such a filter is North America.

It is expected that possibly as early as 1994, certain model cars may include these new filters. If not, however, then the next generation of cars is expected to have filters that control particulates with their second generation counterparts, even addressing odors and toxic gases control.
