With more graduates expected to add up to the growing number of job hunters in Metro Manila and abroad, a local chief executive in a town east of Metro Manila, cited yesterday the need for the government to embark on a program that would enhance English proficiency among students.

Taytay Mayor Joric Gacula said that the national government, particularly the Department of Education (DepEd), should strongly consider "minor revisions" in the academic curriculum of courses, which requires proficiency in English language.
