Apr. 2--EUREKA -- Miss South Dakota isn't just another pretty face.
Nikki Grandpre, the 2005 Miss South Dakota, has passions, aspirations and high hopes -- all nurtured by the things she's experienced during her reign.
She has gained "skills I would have never gotten otherwise," she said. "It's really prepared me for whatever's next."
Grandpre lived in Aberdeen until she was 10 years old. She is the daughter of Bob and Becky Grandpre of Pierre and is a 2000 graduate of Pierre High School.
Each Miss South Dakota has a platform, an issue she believes should be brought to the forefront.
