An Oswego real estate firm is lowering the bar on commissions. FitzGibbons Real Estate recently announced that it will charge a 4.9 percent fee for its assistance in selling a home, compared with commissions that typically run 6 percent to 7 percent in Central New York.
Owner John E. FitzGibbons says the offer amounts to "full service for less." Sellers still get a market analysis, listings in regional multiple listing services, signage, a virtual tour, an open house and other elements of full-service representation, he said.
