Rep. Roy Blunt, the third-ranking member of the U.S. House of Representatives, thinks Republicans might add to their majority in this fall's elections.
Blunt, R-Mo., the majority whip in Congress, spoke at a party fundraiser in Fulton Saturday evening.
The five-term incumbent touched on issues of national defense, border security, tax policy and technology. He also brought up accomplishments he thought had not received adequate attention in the national press.
"Our party really does stand for something," Blunt said.
As for Democrats, "they are not for what the people are for," he said.
