Yarn show's dates controversy heating up

FLORENCE (FNS) -- Bulky, rustic looks in earthy colors made the fashion story at the 33d Pitti Filati yarns showcase that ran here earlier this month, but the shift in dates from its traditional July schedule sent up a wail of protest from spinners.

The spinners, who were showing their fall/winter '94-'95 wares, said that the later dates of the showcase meant they had to make a special effort to contact many of their U.S. clients who were unable to attend.
