Apr. 3--PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies got what they've been wanting -- a left-handed hitter. But another Phillie got the last thing he wanted. The Phillies acquired outfielder David Dellucci and cash from the Texas Rangers in exchange for pitcher Robinson Tejeda and minor league outfielder Jake Blalock late Saturday night. But to make room for him on the 25-man roster, the Phillies released utilityman Tomas Perez, who's been with the club since 2000. The 32-year-old switch-hitter is a .244 career hitter. He has played every infield position and he's even played in the outfield. He was also the team's emergency catcher.
