In the new WB dramedy "Pepper Dennis," Rebecca Romijn makes the move from feature films to the small screen and does her best to prove that she's adept at physical comedy. She gets dragged for a bit by a car, tumbles into a puddle, trips over a table and does a painful face plant into a window. And that's just in Tuesday night's pilot.

Unfortunately, Romijn is no Lucy, nor even an Ally McBeal. All the wince-inducing slapstick can't hide her comedic deficiencies and the scriptwriting cliches. And so, in the end, it's the show that goes "splat."
