Article: CINCINNATI OPENING DAY Chicago sours Reds opener.

Byline: Tom Usher

Apr. 4--CINCINNATI -- Of all the ways the Reds wanted to start, this wasn't it.

For the first day, the newlook Reds looked quite a bit like the 2005 version.

And that's not a good thing.

The Chicago Cubs battered Reds pitching 16-7 before an Opening Day chilled crowd of 42,591 at the Great American Ball Park on Monday.

The Cubs produced two huge innings, scoring five in the first and seven more in the sixth.

Reds left fielder Adam Dunn had one error and misjudged two other balls that were ruled hits.
