SUMMER nights at the Serpentine Gallery are about to become even more spectacular.
The Serpentine today unveiled this year's summer pavilion - an eggshaped inflatable canopy that from June will float above the gallery's lawn.
The structure, designed by award-winning Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and British structural designer Cecil Balmond, is made of translucent material and can be lit from within at night.
Although this is Koolhaas's first UK structure, he is evidently aware of the capricious London summer climate.
