Apr. 5--Fires broke out in two structures in Nags Head and Kitty Hawk on Monday night, but only one was believed to have been started by the wild lightning that accompanied thunderstorms in the area. A man was seriously injured in the other blaze, which appeared to have been started by an electric heater. Henry Turner, whose age was not available, was living in a second-story unit of The Sands Inn in Kitty Hawk when the fire started. He suffered smoke inhalation and burns to his nose and mouth, said Kitty Hawk Fire Chief Lowell Spivey.
