J.P. Ricciardi got to live every budget-strapped general manager's dream this offseason, spending big bucks to add five prominent players to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Imagine if Twins GM Terry Ryan suddenly received permission from owner Carl Pohlad to pump $210 million into the team's payroll over three years.
That's what happened to Ricciardi in February 2005, when Blue Jays owner Ted Rogers purchased the building formerly known as SkyDome and gave Ricciardi that additional three-year cash commitment.
