Alexander Puckett isn't fazed by the funny look he sometimes receives when he tells people where he wants to go to college.
Although most of his fellow seniors at Larkin High School in Elgin intend to continue their studies after graduation, Puckett has lofty goals: He wants to earn his degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis., Md.
After all, it means a possible wartime tour overseas. And four grueling years at the Naval Academy isn't a place where the students - midshipmen - cool their heels before getting a real job.
