AYGESTIN Barr Rx
Progestin. Norethindrone acetate 5mg; scored tabs.
Indications: Endometriosis.
Adults: Initially 5mg daily for 2 weeks, then increase by 2.5mg/day every 2 weeks up to 15mg/day maintenance dose. Continue for 6-9 months unless breakthrough bleeding is intolerable.
Children: Not applicable.
Contraindications: Thromboembolic disorders. Hepatic dysfunction. Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. Breast or genital carcinoma. Missed abortion. Pregnancy (Cat.X).
Precautions: Cardiac or renal dysfunction, Depression. Include Pap smear in pretreatment exam. Conditions aggravated by fluid retention. Discontinue if ...
