Kim Fuller is a chiropractor to his patients, but in Great Bridge he's a modern-day Johnny Appleseed.
Fuller, his daughter Kendall and about 30 volunteers of all ages planted 860 trees last Saturday in the grassy area on either side of the Chesapeake Expressway cloverleaf at Battlefield Boulevard.
While none were apple trees, all are native species to Virginia, and given a few years will grow into a habitat teeming with wildlife, a stark difference from the weed infested patch of land previously surrounding the overpass.
