When Sierra Concepts, the holding company for seven Ellison machinery companies plus other related enterprises, changed its name to Ellison Technologies last October, a stated goal was to build brand identity. With this month's takeover of the underperforming Mori Seiki Mid-American Sales organization and its offices in Des Moines, Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, the Ellison name certainly gets a big boost.
