Manufacturing industries have been on a tear the past few years, but sector employment hasn't kept pace. The reason: fewer employees skilled in the knowledge of turning raw materials into finished goods are needed, while more workers are sought who know how to analyze a business situation and capitalize on it.
North American manufacturing has seen a strong resurgence recently. According to the Institute of Supply Management (ISM), the U.S. manufacturing sector has been expanding for more than two-years.
