Within 10 years, the digital printing of books will begin to impact the traditional book printing industry, according to a new report by Interquest, a leading market and technology and consulting firm for the publishing industry. The report finds that in 2004, digital printing produced an estimated 10 billion impressions devoted to book manufacturing, which represents less than 5 percent of the market. With the Association of American Publishers estimating 2004 net sales of $23.7 billion, there is plenty of room for growth.
