Burglars made off with "a large amount" of jewelry after breaking into a store in the Fifth Street Public Market building early Tuesday, the shop's owner said.
Police are investigating the burglary at New Twist, which occurred about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Store owner Colleen Stangeland said intruders smashed a glass window to gain entry to the store, then proceeded to destroy a locked jewelry case that contained original pieces by nine artists.
"They stole a lot of jewelry from us," Stangeland said.
She declined to reveal the estimated value of the stolen goods but said the items were not covered ...
