Ian Giles is director of marketing at Kensington Mortgages The BBC's investigation into a number of London estate agencies made for uncomfortable viewing and cast a shadow over the house buying process yet again. Estate agents are just one link in a complex chain that needs to instil trust and confidence in the public, but at the moment they are the weakest link.
We must keep the findings of the Whistleblower programme in perspective. I'm sure the majority of estate agents in this country are professional and responsible. As in many industries, this could well be a case of a few bad apples tarnishing the reputation of the rest.
