Apr. 11--Sitting on a plush white couch, surrounded by hefty bodyguards and lots of women, Kanye West chilled at a San Jose art gallery after his HP Pavilion concert in December. The walls were decorated with graffiti art, and there were free drinks, hors d'oeuvres and a VIP line that snaked around the corner outside. Just five days earlier, West needed someone to create an atmosphere he desired. His people contacted Tommy Aguilar, San Jose's hip-hop go-to guy.
