AUSTIN, Texas _ When Ivan Neville is feeling upbeat, he calls the New Orleans Social Club a musical "healing process" for evacuees in Austin.
But these days, his optimistic mood rarely lasts long. Six months after Hurricane Katrina devastated his city, he's still stuck in limbo _ just like most of his Social Club bandmates.
"The reality is it's going to be a long time before I can go back home. Five years at least," the singer-keyboardist says, his face turning grim.
"If you're black, you're not welcome back in New Orleans," adds his uncle Cyril Neville, who bought a house in Austin and says he's staying put.
