Apr. 11--HARTFORD -- For the second quarter in a row, Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell exceeded her opponents in campaign fundraising and Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy raised more than fellow Democratic hopeful New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr. Rell raised $883,115 during the three months ended March 31, compared with $570,000 by Malloy and $415,000 by DeStefano. The governor has raised a total of $1.8 million. According to campaign finance reports filed with the Secretary of the State's Office, Rell held 27 fundraisers during the period, only her second quarter raising money in a bid to be elected to the post she inherited from former ...
